The original Ship in a Bottle was designed by LEGO® fan Jake Sadovich, inspired by a real glass‑bottled ship he had built years earlier. He challenged himself to recreate the intricate nautical display entirely from LEGO® bricks—bottle, cork, wax seal, and all. After reaching 10,000 votes on the LEGO® Ideas platform, it became an official set in 2018 (21313), later re‑released in 2020 as 92177.
